A simple thought

Journey back in time....

After 7 year I was fortunate enough to have a look at what I left behind at my maternal village Gopeshwer. Its a perfect blend of township and village.Provides all amunitites of township served with village culture at its core. The huge Gopinath temple at centre adds to its charm. The myth says that temple was build by Pandavas.

Born and brought up here, this place has been very special for me, due to people whom I love and who loves me. My journey helped me to appreciate this place more not only because it was my birthplace but also due to its panoramic view and cool climate. The fortunate coincidence that Ram Lila was staged act as additional appraisal for me.

It was a perfect break from the jazzy life of pub city Bangalore.
When something precious comes before you after a long gap, time lost its meaning and stand still. This feeling was replicated on my first glance of Gopeshwer. I was hypnotized to see how innocent and soft spoken people can be, how calm the nature can be and how soothing the climate can be. Mighty Himalaya range was baffling me with its huge ageless presence.

Life here is isolated but is contented, (maybe) people here have less purchasing power but there needs are simple, maybe they have attended no team outings but have more time to interact with people around them. They may not have AC's at there workplaces but they have sun, snow, rain all pure and glowing. They may not have polished communication skills but they have more pleasant interaction with others.

It compelled me to think whether our hectic schedule, increased purchase power, enhanced technology, more electronic gadget is making our life happier !.

As our salary packages are increasing, we are enjoying less of it. Doesn't our role is getting shifted from consumer to generator. We are acting more like ATM machines churning more money but enjoying less of it.

Remember the poem
"LEISURE"

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Just a simple thought now back to work....
